Our Abe Lincoln Rose
came earlier this year
to brighten one’s view
from our front porch
with fragrance and beauty
that so often repeats itself
throughout cool Spring days
into Summer, sometimes Fall
praying that cuttings take root
these heavy, fragrant blossoms
bring joy to eye and nose alike
I guess that last coat of paint stuck then, huh?

Beautiful! I love roses but I have not had luck with growing them. The borers seem to always win the battle so I gave up. 😥

Don’t give up on the roses…There is a simple remedy for borers, worms and other pests that works for all types of plants. Try again and I’ll explain what to do and it costs almost nothing…:)

Thanks, I do have two miniature roses planted that were given to me. So far they’ve stayed healthy. Maybe I’ll buy one full size rose bush and try my hand them again. I’d be grateful for any tips that you may have to offer. 🙂
